First Looks: Bleacher Report Team Stream HD

Posted by Raymond Padilla, January 20th, 2012

Bleacher Report has updated its Team Stream HD app with full iPad support. The app is kind of like Flipboard for sports enthusiasts. It allows you to create a custom news feed full of the sports and teams you like (and even WWE news, for those of you that enjoy "sports entertainment"). I've spent a few hours with the app and love what it does. I just wish it did it better. Read on for more details.

Invoxia's NVX 610 is a Powerful and Versatile iOS VoIP Accessory

Posted by Raymond Padilla, January 19th, 2012

One of the most impressive iPad and iPhone accessories I saw at CES was Invoxia's NVX 610. This unique product offers voice-over-IP calling, a corporate-quality speakerphone, and great speakers for music playback. It's a beautiful device -- one of the few third-party accessories that could pass for an Apple product -- and works very well from what I was shown. However, it's easy to mistake the NVX 610 for something that it's not. Read on for some original pictures, details, and first impressions of the NVX 610.

Samsung Galaxy Note (AT&T) Hands-On Preview

Posted by Raymond Padilla, January 10th, 2012

Samsung was showing off the Galaxy Note for AT&T at Pepcom's Digital Experience event last night. Referred to by many as a "Phablet", the Galaxy Note packs a 5.3-inch HD Super AMOLED Screen. Unusually, it's bigger than most phones and smaller than most tablets. The idea is that this product will offer the best of both worlds. An international GSM version has been available since October 2011. Samsung is partnering with AT&T to bring the Galaxy Note to America in the near future. Read on for specs, hands-on impressions, and original photos of the Samsung Galaxy Note for AT&T.

First Look: Skitch for iPad

Posted by Raymond Padilla, December 22nd, 2011

Skitch is one of my favorite apps for Mac OS and Android. It's fantastic for adding annotations to screen shots, clearing up directions on maps, and making photos goofy. In the words of the developer it lets you, "Use shapes, arrows, sketches and text annotation to get your point across fast. Mark up photos, screenshots, maps, and webpages then share them with anyone you like." Thankfully, Skitch is now available for iPad. Here's a quick look at this fine app.

First Look: Google Currents

Posted by Raymond Padilla, December 9th, 2011

Google recently released Google Currents for Android and iOS. In many ways, this news-curation app is similar to the outstanding Flipboard. In some ways, it's very different. Google Currents is off to a fantastic start, but its lack of social features -- especially the lack of deep Google+ integration -- is puzzling. Check out my first impressions and several screens of Google Currents.

First Look: My Xbox Live for iPad

Posted by Raymond Padilla, December 7th, 2011

Microsoft recently released the My Xbox Live app for iOS, which allows Xbox 360 gamers to access their Xbox Live accounts on their iPads and iPhones. The app lets gamers view videos and news on the latest Xbox 360 happenings, browse through their games and achievements, and interact with their Xbox Live friends. While two of those three features aren't that big of a deal, the app shines as a mobile social-networking extension of Xbox Live. Read on for some impressions and screens.

Pocket Legends, Spacetime Studio's flagship title, had a lengthy development time for an iOS game-- well over a year. But Blackstar, their next MMORPG, has been in development since 2005. It started as a PC project, but after NCSoft canceled it, the ambitious sci-fi epic was shelved, until now.

Panopticon iPad Hands-On Preview

Posted by Andrew Podolsky, January 13th, 2011

The Panopticon, in the historical sense, is the basis for all our modern prisons. A wide ring with the prison guards in the middle, the Panopticon design gives prisoners a feeling of being watched and under total control. So it makes sense that if you design an all-powerful world computer and call it the Panopticon, it's going to become self-aware and enslave humanity.

Posted by Chris Reed, October 13th, 2010

The first trailer for Aralon: Sword and Shadow has hit the Internet, and it's a beauty. Aralon is an upcoming 3D RPG from the makers of Ravensword: The Fallen King and Rimelands: Hammer of Thor. Since those successful RPGs will be the basis of comparison, Aralon has a lot to live up to. But from the looks of it, it just might succeed.
